As a consequence to the current health emergency and the spread of the pandemic generated by the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, the Spanish Government declared in March a national state of alarm, as per the Royal Decree 436/2020. Further to this, disinfecting surfaces to stop transmission of the virus between people has been recommended. There now exists a list of viricidal products authorized and registered in Spain that have demonstrated effectiveness against the virus.
In the context of this emergency and due to repeated demand from our customers, BEST terminal will offer the disinfection of empty containers, through qualified professional staff, using products approved by the Ministry of Health. The technique to be applied to the containers is currently being used to disinfect spaces where different operations may be carried out safely afterwards.
To request this service, please contact our Logistics department (logistica@best.com.es) indicating number of units to be disinfected of each of the empty containers’ ISO codes that are required. Our logistics department will confirm reception of request, as well as the possibility and time forecast for carrying out the service. If during visual inspection the unit is found to have obvious leftovers or damages, the customer will be notified in order to make a decision on what to do about this.
Once the disinfection process is finished, the container will be returned to the automated blocks from where the delivery was made, and the customer will be provided with an identification number for the containers that have been disinfected, which may then be removed from the terminal with a nominated delivery slip at the customer’s request.
The price of disinfection will be 100 euros, adding to which any corresponding horizontal movement costs.
