Synergy, the logistics operator of the Hutchison Ports group, has consolidated its intermodal service between Hutchison Ports BEST Terminal and the southwest of France.
This service was presented last February 2020, together with the Port of Bayonne, and since then the evolution has been very positive. Proof of this are the success stories of customers who are already benefiting from up to 11 days of savings in the transit time of their goods, and significant competitive advantages for importing and exporting their products through the Port of Barcelona.
In reference to the evolution of the service, Synergy’s General Manager, Pablo Garcia, explains that “Synergy’s commitment to France was motivated by the excellent geographical location of our terminal in Noain, which is only 100 km from the border”.
In line with the EU Green Deal initiative, Synergy also brings added value to companies in terms of CO2 savings. Last year, Synergy saved more than 12,000 tonnes of CO2.
Pablo García points out that “a major blockage for many French companies has always been the customs difficulties in transporting their goods through the Port of Barcelona. At Synergy, we have also taken care to address this point, and we already offer all kinds of customs services to simplify things for our customers.“
In this way, Synergy positions itself as an integrated Port to Door operator, offering logistics, terminal and customs solutions, ‘All in one‘.
This new milestone joins the existing rail corridors between BEST and Noain (Pamplona), which already has 6 weekly frequencies, and between BEST and Miranda de Ebro (Burgos), which maintains its 4 weekly frequencies.
