BEST supports research into childhood cancer

Hutchison Ports BEST has participated, for the 4th consecutive year, in the Charity Run supporting the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital for children with cancer

This solidarity run, organized by the Rotary Club of el Prat de Llobregat and with the collaboration of the Prat townhall, aims to raise funds for child cancer research.

BEST, who maintains a strong commitment to society, and as part of its CSR programmes, has collaborated with its name on all the running shirts and posters. This contribution goes to the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu, an organisation with which the company has been collaborating for years. The money raised each year goes to different campaigns, all with the common goal of making the children’s stay in hospital more bearable, as well as helping their families.

In addition, several employees and managers of the company wanted to support this cause on a personal level, actively participating in the “Cursa Solidaria” (Solidarity Run). This is a 5km run through the streets of El Prat de Llobregat, in a relaxed, family and fun atmosphere.

With this collaboration, BEST reaffirms its commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations 2030 agenda, once again supporting the sections on sustainable cities and communities.

In total, BEST’s sustainability plan meets 12 of the 17 SDGs and this is endorsed by the different environmental quality certificates such as ISO 14001 and compliance with the Guide to Good Environmental Practices of the Port of Barcelona.
