Carbon Footprint calculation and verification is a signal of committment for reducing the environmental impact of Green House Gases emissions from its operations. Hutchison Ports BEST has reduced its emissions a 56.57% in 2022 compared to 2021.

Thanks to the implementation of a Quality Management System according to the UNE-EN ISO 9001, the company demonstrates its ability to consistently provide products or services that meet customer requirements. The company has had this certificate since 1996.

The Environmental Management System, certified in 2013 according to the UNE-EN ISO 14001, gives the company the option of simply systematize the environmental issues generated in the performed activities, as well as promote the environmental protection and the pollution prevention according to the economic balance. With the Environmental Management System the company optimizes the waste management, reduces the negative environmental impacts derived of the activity and reduces the risks derived from accidental situations, among other benefits.

ISO 45001, the certification that the company has since 2020, is the new standard for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems, which replaces the OHSAS 18001 standard, obtained in 2013. The adoption of an occupational health and safety management system (OSH) is intended to enable an organization to improve its OSH performance in increasing occupational health and safety and to manage its OSH risks. The purpose of ISO 45001 is to prevent work-related death, injury and health impairment for workers, improve and provide a safe and healthy workplace for your workers and others under your control.

BEST with its commitment to the environment has signed in 2015 an agreement with the Port Authority of Barcelona on good environment practices, adding the Good Environment Practices Guide in its Management System.

AUTHORIZED ECONOMIC OPERATOR (AEO)AUTHORIZED ECONOMIC OPERATOR (AEO)

As a result of the Union Customs Code, maritime terminals have new obligations to monitor goods during their stay in port, as well as their entry and exit. For this reason, BEST is certified as an Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) and is a Temporary Storage Warehouse. This implies that BEST is a safe and reliable operator in the logistics chain and, at the same time, a reliable operator for customs operations.

The Efficiency Network is the mark of quality of the operators specialized in containerized goods that work in the Port of Barcelona, who are committed to provide safety and security to its customers. The commissioning of this quality label has led real and verifiable improvements in customs procedures and inspections. The commitment in terms of documentary procedures and inspections are one of the main points of the new Quality Plan which specifies a number of commitments on reliability during operations. The company has this quality certificate since 2013.
